new ep 'in the space of seven breaths'

I just released my new ep 'in the space of seven breaths'. It's a three track 15 minute ambient electro-acoustic experience. Together with Samir Boureghda on guitars and pedals and Koen de Wit on clarinet, we jammed for two days and this is the result of mixing the sessions down.

We did a live cinema evening at STEIM in Amsterdam, while scenes were projected we added live video, music and sound design.

the sega wacky sound system II

..I built a 'wacky sound generator' from music from outer space inside a 'sega master system II' casing, which is a lot of fun!

I tried some things, short the wrong wires and added a starve knob, the whole thing is not as clean sounding as it could be, but it makes noises and I love it. Here's some pictures and a short movie with my first impressions on it:

mayakovsky, part 1

Yesterday we did a try-out of our Mayakovsky performance, it will be performed in full during the opening of "two sides of a story" .

I recite a poem by Mayakovsky in Dutch to Koen de Wit playing clarinet. The laptop running max/msp feeds us back the performance, cut-up, reversed, scrambled nonsense, slowly fading to a recording of Mayakovsky reciting the same poem in Russian almost a century ago. While we perform a stop motion sequence by Sabine Bolk is synched using jitter.
